Surf Day Out 2026: Building Future Surfers & Ocean Awareness in Bali

Bali, 11 April 2026 Surf Day Out successfully took place last Saturday at Breakfast Club Seminyak, bringing together the surfing community for a morning of waves, learning, and meaningful conversations. The event was hosted by Asian Surf Performance Academy (ASPA) in collaboration with Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach, and supported by Asian Surf Co (ASC), Bali Ocean Week, and Ombak 4Hope.
Running from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the one-day event kicked off with a surf practice session involving young surfers (groms). The session was guided by experienced coaches, including Tipi Jabrik, Mickey Sudena, and Made Joi, who provided direct analysis and feedback to help participants improve their technique and understanding of the sport.
The program continued with an insightful talkshow session led by Tipi Jabrik from Asian Surf Co (ASC). In this session, he shared valuable knowledge on the journey to becoming a professional surfer, highlighting key aspects such as discipline, training, and long-term development. Beyond performance, participants were also introduced to the importance of personal branding and independence, where groms were encouraged to create sponsorship proposals. As a practical exercise, they were tasked with directly submitting their proposals to brands on the same day.
Following this, Sinta from Bali Ocean Week delivered a session focused on ocean conservation. She emphasized that being a surfer goes beyond riding waves it also comes with the responsibility to protect and preserve the marine ecosystem. The session highlighted the importance of environmental awareness from a young age, encouraging surfers to actively participate in maintaining ocean cleanliness and sustainability.
Surf Day Out 2026 was more than just a surfing event it was a platform to nurture the next generation of surfers while instilling values of community, independence, and environmental responsibility.
